Privacy Policy

Short version: Jotmatic makes everything on your iPhone. We don't collect any data: no account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. We never see or hear your recordings.

Who we are

Jotmatic (the "App") is operated by Nexios Media LLC, an Illinois limited liability company ("we", "us"). Contact: support@jotmatic.com.

What the App does with your recordings

When you record, the audio is saved on your iPhone. The live transcript you see while recording, the full transcript, speaker labels, summaries, action items, word lists and flashcards are all made on your iPhone by Apple's built-in speech recognition and Apple Intelligence models and by speaker-labelling models that ship inside the App. Recordings, transcripts and notes are not sent to us, to Apple's servers for processing, or to any AI company. The App has no server and no account.

Data we collect

None. We don't run analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or attribution software, and we don't receive your recordings, transcripts, notes, flashcards, settings or device identifiers. This matches the App's App Store privacy label, "Data Not Collected".

When the App uses the internet

After the language download, recording, transcription and notes work in airplane mode.

Where your data is stored

Your recordings stay in the App's storage on your iPhone. They are included in your own iCloud or computer backup if you've turned backups on; that backup is between you and Apple, and we can't access it. Deleting a recording, using Settings › Delete all recordings, or deleting the App removes the data from your iPhone. Because we never have a copy, we can't recover deleted recordings.

Sharing

Nothing leaves your iPhone unless you choose to share it, for example by exporting notes or a transcript. What you share and with whom is up to you.

Who spoke (speaker labels)

For meetings and interviews, "Who spoke" is on unless you turn it off in Settings. To tell voices apart within one recording, the App briefly computes speaker features from the audio on your iPhone; these features are a kind of voiceprint. They're used only for that one recording, discarded when labelling finishes, never saved, never compared across recordings and never sent anywhere. Only the time ranges ("Speaker 1 from 0:00 to 0:42") and any names you type for the speakers are saved with the recording.

Spotlight, Reminders, Calendar and Camera

So you can find recordings from your Home Screen, the App adds titles, summaries and transcript text to Spotlight's index on your iPhone. If you tap "Add to Reminders", the App creates reminders for the action items you chose, in your Reminders app. Both stay on your devices under your Apple Account settings; we receive nothing.

Calendar: only if you turn on "Up next", the App reads your upcoming events on your iPhone to show your next meeting. If you record that meeting from the card, its title and attendee names are saved with that recording, so the notes spell names correctly. Nothing else from your calendar is stored, and nothing is sent anywhere. "Add to Calendar" from a note uses Apple's event editor and doesn't give the App access to your calendar.

Camera and photos: photos you take or pick while recording (for example, of a slide or whiteboard) are saved inside that recording on your iPhone, and are included in your backups and in exports you choose to share. The App sees only the photos you pick, not your library.

Beta testing (TestFlight and App Review builds)

Test versions distributed through TestFlight, and the copy Apple's App Review team uses, keep a small diagnostic log on the iPhone: timings, battery level, device temperature state and whether the screen was locked. It contains no audio, transcripts, words or titles. It's sent to us only if the tester taps Share in Settings › Field report. Apple may also share crash reports and feedback from TestFlight with us under Apple's terms. App Store versions don't keep this log.

Recording other people

Many places, including several US states, the EU, the UK and Turkey, require everyone's consent to record a private conversation. You are responsible for getting permission before recording anyone. The App doesn't store voiceprints: the speaker features described under "Who spoke" are discarded as soon as a recording's labels are made.

Children

The App isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there's nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete; you control all of it on your iPhone. If you have questions under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA or similar laws, write to support@jotmatic.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. If a future feature ever changes what data leaves your iPhone, we'll explain it in the App before it's used.
